Davanti Warehousing BV is an international, dynamic and fast growing company with 50 employees. We are a member of the NewCold group (www.newcold.com), an integrated service provider for cold chain logistics.

Davanti is specialized in developing and implementing Warehouse Management Systems. Our headquarters is located in Breda. We both serve national and international customers, and are currently implementing our software in several countries in Europe, Australia & the USA.

Haven Ventures consists of a group of experienced software and technology companies that offer the latest innovations in supply chain operations that truly scales along with our clients' size, growing demands, or opportunities. For this role the focus will be on the following entities to start with:

WICS is a company acquired as of Jan 1, 2023. Based in Gorinchem with about 20 employees. WICS belongs to the world's smartest logistics systems. Wics has continued to develop for years in the technical, software and innovative fields, as well as in the area of logistics know-how. The latter is characterized by experienced people who work daily to optimize numerous logistics processes.

About the vacancy

As Business Controller of Wics and Davanti, within Haven Ventures, you will be at the forefront of all Finance related activities. You will focus on finance related systems and services but will work across many business areas through projects that involve integration with other systems and data. You will be responsible for providing timely and relevant financial data. To be successful in this role you will need to have a highly collaborative approach to service improvement, working closely with the finance team to continually improve finance related systems and services. Hierarchical reporting to CEO's of Davanti & Wics and functional to Director Finance Haven Ventures (location Breda). The financial accounting will be executed by the shared service center of the sister company NewCold.
Key member of the management team Davanti/Wics, works directly with and is business partner for the manager, to define the goals and targets, with an active .an initiating role supporting the business optimization and growth. The controller acts as the consciousness of the organization and co-authorizes contracts and business proposals as a company official.

What will you do?

• The details below are intended to offer a guide for the role, the list is non exhaustive and is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
• Prepares including analyses the monthly management reporting, Forecast Year, 12 month rolling forecast, profitability reporting, KPI dashboard, and ad hoc analysis.
• Annual Budgets and Strategic Plan preparation to include Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow Statement, together with detailed analysis and commentaries of all major variances.
• Provide support to Heads of Business with finance information and analysis. Including P&L's for each business activity, contractual performance / fulfilment, customer profitability, identifying efficiencies and strategies to improve margins.
• Maintain all project plans and ensure compliance to timeframe and collaborate with stakeholders for all implementation processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
• Closely following up important KPI's (i.e. hours spend direct/indirect ) and initiate action where ever needed.
• Acting as the main contact between internal and external clients with responsibility for managing these relationships, as appropriate, as agreed.
• Support Sales with pricing including scenario modelling, pricing models and sensitivity analysis of margins.
• Responsible for balance sheet KPI reporting, management of working capital, balance sheet reconciliations, share capital transactions.
• Assist with assessing potential customers and Capital investments and ROI.
• Preparing audit files and coordinating with relevant departments.
• Analyse financial data and create financial models for decision support.
• Work closely with the Head Office, Shared Service Centre accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.
• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.
• Responsible for two relative "new"entities: Wics and to be carved out activity from Davanti.
• Possibly in future more international activities will be started up.
• Provide supporting activities to the projects at Haven Ventures Holding.
• Integration of the entities.
• Work in an international context.

Who are we looking for?

You are a finance professional who is ready for a next step in his/her career. You are eager to learn new skills, share what you know, expand your network and contribute to the continued growth of NewCold. You have an affinity for financial accounting and preferably you have worked in an international environment.

In addition, you have:

• Comfortable working in a IT development and consulting environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A quick learner, a self-starter, able to work independently, and willing (and able) to handle the pressures of an increasing level of responsibility
• Can take on multiple projects/tasks and problem solver
• Education: Higher Education or University level (or equivalent). Minimal 5 years relevant working experience
• Highly experienced with Excel and other Microsoft software
• Experienced with PowerBi is a bonus
• Ability to follow up on pending issues and meet deadlines
• Languages: Dutch and English
