As a Controller working on FinTech Projects, you will join our Global Accounting Team in our office in Amsterdam. You will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and launch of new business initiatives related to the flow of funds between customers and our partners. Your main focus will be on the financial reporting aspect of these initiatives. You will also be responsible for identifying and driving continuous improvements in our accounting processes for facilitated payments.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Work with various teams, including product, engineering, and data analytics, to evaluate the impact of new initiatives on financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements for new initiatives, following all applicable rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Data Analytics teams to design, implement, and test reporting for new initiatives.
• Analyze existing processes with a focus on improvement, using a lean six sigma mindset.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization, simplification, and automation.
• Prioritize reporting implementation and improvement initiatives in alignment with company priorities.
• Manage and coach a team of Accountants, overseeing their tasks and projects, and reviewing their performance.
• Develop a team structure that can adapt to organizational complexity and growth, investing in the development of team members.
• Play an active role in setting and prioritizing the roadmap for the Accounting team, driving the team to achieve its objectives.

Required Education, Qualifications & Experience

• Approximately 8+ years of experience in finance and/or accounting, preferably in a multinational company (knowledge of Online Payments Accounting is beneficial).
• University degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics.
• Post-graduate education (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience with implementing big data-based accounting reports (big data experience is a must for this role).
• Lean six sigma qualification.
• Strong experience working with Product, Business Intelligence, and Data teams.
• Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence change within an organization.
• Experience managing teams and providing on-the-job coaching and training.
• Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, diverse, and continuously evolving environment.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
• Sound knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS.
• Strong IT skills, preferably with experience in financial systems, SAP, and FICA.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Required Qualifications:

• Approximately 8+ years of finance and/or accounting experience, preferably in a multinational company.
• University degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics.
• Certification in CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Proven experience with implementing big data-based accounting reports.
• Lean six sigma qualification.
• Strong experience working with Product, Business Intelligence, and Data teams.
