About the team
Our Accounting team are responsible for preparing, analysing, and reporting the financial results of the business in a well-controlled, accurate and timely manner. They work closely with the entire business to ensure we can meet our financial commitments and performance targets. The key objectives of the team are to deliver the numbers and help to grow the business in a controlled environment.
What you will be doing
The WPBV Financial Controller will be responsible for monthly and quarterly data analysis and reporting; you will be confident in presenting findings to key stakeholders at varying levels. Based in the Netherlands you will report directly to the MS International Controller and will be focussed exclusively on legal entity control and reporting for WPBV and its subsidiaries. In particular:
- You will be responsible for producing BV Board packs teams, facilitating the provision of concise explanations for variances and supporting balance sheet reviews and reconciliations and query resolution, escalating to the operational and controllership teams for explanation of significant variances as appropriate.
- You will also be responsible for producing analysis-driven monthly actuals for Worldpay BV legal entity, contributing to the International monthly close and supporting journal reviews and Balance sheet reconciliations providing explanations for monthly variances as required.
- You will take ownership for regulatory reporting packs for submission to the DNB with commentary on the P&L and Balance Sheet including analysis of merchant trends, business performance and period on period movements, identifying items that require escalation to the settlement and revenue reporting.
- You will lead on the year end audit and interims working closely with internal teams and the external auditors to ensure timely delivery of the audit. In addition, you will be responsible for reporting internal control, driving change and leading on the implementation of recommendations agrees with management as required and reporting to the board on progress.
What you bring:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) with at least 2 years industry experience
- Good knowledge of IFRS
- Experience of financial analysis and reporting
- Must have External audit experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, confident when communicating with staff and management at all levels.
- Numerate, methodical and proactive
- Excellent attention to detail
- Advanced Excel Skills
Added bonus if you have:
- Experienced in continuous process improvements.
- Experience in consolidated financial reporting tools such as Hyperion/Essbase
- Experience of Oracle cloud
- Some knowledge of payments and platforms would be preferred.
