The Company

Do you want to work for an international company that is set to achieve spectacular further growth? Both organically and through acquisitions! Are you an expert in reporting and eager to develop yourself in the field of controlling within a rapidly growing organization?

Then this is the position for you!

A vacancy for a Group Controller has arisen within the finance team, which will work closely with the finance team to further professionalize the financial department. In this role, you will have ample opportunities to advance yourself and make a difference in an entrepreneurial, fast-growing, and tech-savvy environment!

This organization is a leading consultancy firm focused on digital transformation, serving clients in the Health, Retail, and Finance sectors. They assist their clients in evolving and staying relevant by providing insightful advice, cutting-edge designs, and unparalleled in-house developed digital platforms. Through these means, they accelerate the effectiveness, customer-centricity, and growth of their clients. Their exceptional results stem from successfully connecting people, business, and technology. With over 350 talented colleagues across the Netherlands, Portugal, and DACH (7 locations), employees who genuinely embrace change and challenges, they have created a unique high-daring, high-caring culture. They attract exceptional talent and inspire their employees to set high standards for themselves and their clients. They do this based on a foundation of trust and safety (caring and daring) and the principle of "people first." Additionally, the organization has been recognized as a 'Great Place to Work' with satisfied employees and clients.

Furthermore, this organization is experiencing rapid growth (20% YoY in recent years) and has ambitions for further international expansion. Currently, the revenue stands at approximately 50 million euros. The goal is to accelerate growth in the coming years and refine the business model: shifting from a 'digital consulting' model (projects/hours) to a more recurring 'software' model. Recently, a prominent Private Equity firm has become a shareholder to achieve this objective. Thus, the organization is on the verge of further international expansion, both organically and through acquisitions.

Given the international growth ambition, strengthening Finance at the group level is a key priority. The finance team plays a pivotal role in this regard. As a result of growth, the finance function will continuously evolve, creating opportunities. The organization is currently working on further development and professionalization of the financial department and is therefore investing in the composition and growth of the finance team. That's why they are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Group Controller who, in close collaboration with the finance team, can shape the further expansion of the company.

The position

In this position as Group Controller you monitor the financial compliance of the group and, together with the other controller, you act as the right hand of the Director Legal & Finance(CFO). You coordinate the audit cycle together with the accountant and prepare the annual accounts and interim periodic reports. You are responsible for tax and social obligations, collaborating with the payroll department, external tax advisors, and auditors as necessary. Additionally, you handle consolidations and intercompany reconciliations within the organization. Furthermore, you are involved in the reporting for all subsidiaries of the organization. You manage the general ledger, monthly entries, and closings that result in the delivery of monthly financial figures. Finally, you monitor the AO/IC by translating Dutch GAAP into work instructions and processes.

You are also actively involved in monitoring the balance sheet, financing, and cash flow, and you prepare forecasts, taking into account various scenarios. As a result, you hold a key role within the organization with ambitious objectives for professionalization and growth.

You serve as a valuable sparring partner for the management team (e.g., CEO & CFO). The Group Controller reports to the Director Legal & Finance (CFO) and operates as a senior member within a team consisting of two controllers (1 business controller & 1 group controller) and administrators (3 FTEs) who coordinate their tasks collaboratively. You have the ability to bridge the gap between Financial Control (the focus of the Group Controller) and Business Control. Therefore, your role is quite broad, providing you with ample opportunities for further development. With the organization's rapid growth, a variety of different topics arise, and as part of the team, you are responsible for shaping solutions. In this position, you enjoy a great deal of autonomy and responsibility. You actively propose improvements and, together with the team, elevate the administration and financial processes to a higher level. The Group Controller must be able to think strategically and execute effectively.

The Group Controller has a critical and constructive role. Pro actively providing unsolicited advice is not only expected but also appreciated in this organization. Given the private equity ownership of the organization, you will frequently encounter various ad-hoc-related issues, reports, analyses, and projects. In other words, they are looking for a Group Controller who can also understand the story behind the numbers.
