At dsm-firmenich, we are looking for a Group Treasury & Insurances Assistant Controller who can help to effectively manage complex financial operations, drive internal controls, and contribute to the organization’s strategic success. As the Group Treasury & Insurances Assistant Controller, your primary responsibility is to provide management information and reports for treasury and insurances in general (like monthly, quarterly reports, RAF, Finance Plan), coordinate its tax statutory and other regulatory reporting. Next to that organize and supervise the treasury and insurances administration of DSM BV, DSM Finance BV, DSM Insurances BV and other finance vehicles.


In this highly specialized and dynamic role, you will collaborate with various internal stakeholders such as the Head of Group Treasury & Insurances, Controller Group Treasury & Insurances, Head of Group Control & Accounting, and Head of Group Financial Compliance. You will also engage with external partners including auditors, banks, and actuarial experts. The role is characterized by its complexity, reliance on IT systems, and the need for robust internal controls and compliance.

Your key responsibilities

General

  • Manage the Mid- and Back office of Group Treasury & Insurances and coach its employees;
  • Replace the Controller Group Treasury & Insurances on operational issues;
  • Support in various Treasury/M&A projects and special assignments (of Head of Treasury & Insurances).


Control and Reporting

  • Provide management information and reports for treasury and insurances in general (like monthly, quarterly reports, RAF, Finance Plan), coordinate its tax, statutory and other regulatory reporting;
  • Organize and supervise the treasury administration of DSM BV, DSM Finance BV, DSM Insurances BV and other finance vehicles;
  • Provide ad hoc reporting when required and embed in regular process when this reporting need becomes structural.


Risk Management, Internal Control, and Compliance

  • Be an active member of the Risk Management committee;
  • Be responsible for the user-management of electronic banking platforms;
  • Be responsible for the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative processes within Group Treasury & Insurances and initiate improvements if necessary.


Systems, Digital, Processes

  • Ensure uninterrupted function of the Group Treasury & Insurances systems as the process is highly automated;
  • Be co-responsible (together with the Controller) for the development and implementation of new information systems for the specific demands and functionalities of Group Treasury & Insurances.


Financial Planning

  • Monitor credit rating agency metrics and analyze debt headroom and financial capacity;
  • Monitor the group’s liquidity position and manage liquidity forecasts.

You bring

  • Good understanding of dsm-firmenich as a company;
  • Bachelor or equivalent level in Finance/Accounting;
  • At least 5 years of relevant accounting and controlling experience;
  • Exposure to treasury and insurance expertise is advantageous;
  • Understanding of fiscal, legal, and accounting considerations (IFRS/IAS);
  • Expertise in developing internal controls;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Strong people leadership and change management capabilities;
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and collaborative mindset;
  • Be able to influence without using or having authority;
  • Fluent in English;
  • First-time right mentality;
  • Energetic can-do mentality;
  • Curiosity and adaptability.
