Internal Controller

Are you interested in the distribution of bulk liquids operated by the world’s largest and most sophisticated fleet of chemical and parcel tankers, with over 100 deep-sea ships?

We are looking for an Internal Controller. You will make a significant contribution to Stolt Tankers by assuring the company’s internal controls over financial reporting.

Stolt Tankers a division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (SNL), is the specialist in transporting bulk liquids: Chemicals, clean petroleum products, vegetable oils, biofuels and oleochemicals. We are continuously seeking how we can add value for our customers.

What you will be doing
You will analyse financial information and reporting, utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures according to the financial internal and external regulations. As Internal Controller you are also responsible for assessing the suitability and effectiveness of internal management systems and the performance of departments in implementing rules, procedures, and processes by reference to the risk associated with them.

Key Responsibilities

• Internal Control. Assess and implement mechanisms, rules, and procedures to ensure the integrity and compliance of financial and accounting information, in close alignment with the Global Shared Service Center.
• Internal and external audit. Work together with corporate internal audit and external audit to evaluate the company’s internal controls including governance and accounting processes.
• Risk management. Identifying, analysing, and accepting or mitigating uncertainty in investment decisions.
• Back up for other team members within Financial Control responsible for consolidation, reporting, technical accounting and Joint Ventures, Accounts receivables and claims.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance.
• Accounting (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation or willingness to pursue Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) / Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) designation would be an asset.
• At least 5+ years’ experience in Finance and/or Audit at a medium to large organization.
• Experience in assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
• Experience in writing internal policies and procedures and process evaluation and documentation.
• Solid management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Previous experience working with departments outside of Finance and managing stakeholders.
• International experience, particularly in multi-national and international organizations (desirable).
