The Position

Parts of the TEM R&D organization are the Program Portfolio Teams crafted to match our different types of customers. Those teams are defining the most competitive innovation strategy with their marketing counterparts. Building a strong roadmap that delivers business growth. Translating the roadmap into programs and projects and deliver them in time, within budget and on quality. Next to it, they are responsible for the definition and execution of Non-Standard Customer Requests (NSR) as well as driving resolution for all product related issues in the market.

As Staff Program Manager you are part of an enthusiastic & hard-working multi-disciplinary Global TEM solutions Management team and you are responsible to lead the product program from conception towards introduction on product level. You lead system integration teams and project leaders that deliver the full programs of projects, to grow the Business outcome with our New product introductions. The subject areas involved are mechanical, electrical, software, thermal, mechatronics, service, operations, sourcing etc. which may reside inside or outside our group or at suppliers. Based on the type of project this can be across geographically dispersed locations including Europe and US based Engineering teams.

You will typically be responsible to run 2 to 3 programs in parallel. The programs contain 10-30 projects that can vary from relatively small, taking some months, to big taking up to 3,5 years. Additionally, 2-20 Non-Standard-Request orders enable new technologies to support faster market introductions and customer deliveries. The decisions made by you and your teams will have direct business impact. Your challenge will be to build technological sophisticated products, meeting the needs of all your customers, combining short term goals with long term needs. You will report directly to the leader of one of the Portfolios.

Duties and responsibilities

• Lead the programming and execution of all projects (Workflows, System Integration, Modules, Software and NSR’s) in the given portfolio.
• Implement meticulous review processes and set clear expectations around the key results of the programs.
• Consistency to the Product Management Process and defined delivery schedules.
• Effectively handle the requirements and collaborate with multi-functional teams including marketing, manufacturing, service, and finance to ensure breakthrough specifications to be delivered.
• Supply to the R&D budgeting process by providing financial/budgetary analysis
• Manage the program scope within the agreed budget, timeline, quality

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

• Typically requires a University Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field.
• Typically requires 7+ years of work experience, of which you have worked in similar low volume capital equipment industry.
• 5+ years proven experience in systems or subsystems project management, with ambition to continue to grow in a role as Sr. Manager Program Management
• Proven track record to lead sophisticated engineering projects through a defined product management process.
• Ability to build consensus among key collaborators that may not be under your management control.
• Strong communication ability is required due to the multi-functional nature of this role. Explaining complex, technical concepts to a variety of audiences energizes you.
• Ability to lead and assign specific duties and build a constructive and coordinated working relationship.
