THE ROLE

For this interim position, Damen Naval is looking for a Vendor Data Controller who can start on a temporary basis for the period of 12 up to 24 months. As a Vendor Data Controller, you play an important supporting role in the delivery of state-of-the-art naval vessels. You ensure all involved stakeholders are provided with the most recent and accurate engineering data. The external stakeholders are the customer, partners, and subcontractors. However, the engineering teams working adjacent on the design of the naval vessels are also important internal stakeholders. As the custodian of the data, you ensure all data collected and sent is properly registered in our Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. As crucial design decisions are as good as the data they are based upon, your impact to a successful new vessel is significant.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As a Vendor Data Controller you are responsible for:

• Checking all data received from and shared with the customer, partners and/or subcontractors for technical compliance, quality, and completeness.
• Processing, registering the checked data and distributing the data in different databases including Document Control.
• Pro-actively liaise internally with project engineering teams and other relevant stakeholders.
• Managing the various project mailboxes including distribution to the various team members.
• Generating and distributing of document control progress and status reports.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

As a Vendor Data Controller you need to have:

• Post-secondary vocational education (MBO) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferably with relevant work experience.
• Experience and affinity and with Product Data Management systems including Document Management.
• Extensive working experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Competencies: accuracy, pro-active attitude, eye for detail, flexibility, and good interpersonal communication skills.
• Good command of the English language both written and verbal and preferably also Dutch and or German.
• Excellent references antecedents because a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship combined with an EU work visa are both required for our employees given the military nature of projects.
