ABOUT THE ROLE
We are super ambitious and run in multiple jurisdictions in a group structure. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead group financial operations and oversee and support site financial administration by working closely with country finance managers and managing directors. You will manage and lead 1-2 staff members and will play a key role in both finance- and impact reporting, making our 4 Returns measurable and manageable. You will be in the detail to have a full understanding of the data flows and transactions, as well as steer the financial ship to full compliance together with the CFO.
The risk & compliance aspect of the role is crucial to ensure we have a clear understanding of our requirements and our risks – in each operating location and group-wide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run, monitor and improve groupwide accounting & payroll operations – also managing these operations at subsidiary level, including outsourced party management and locally placed staff.
- Standardize, improve and support subsidiaries with financial operations and reporting, ensuring an integrated, consolidated reporting structure, system and flow
- Prepare monthly management reporting and forecasting processes, including support of group wide impact reporting on KB’s 4 Returns.
- Monitor and quality assure the company’s timely and accurate financial reporting across the jurisdictions, including compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements for both local entities and for the Group.
- Setup and run insightful and transparent treasury services for the whole group of companies.
- Manage the annual audit process, including financial statements and liaising with external accountants and auditors, and oversee and support these for local entities.
Candidate profile
- Diligent executor: with excellent financial management skills, thorough attention to detail and accuracy with reliable delivery on agreed outcomes.
- A systemiser: able to oversee the HR, IT, procurement and financial processes, systems and implications of changes. Ensure that they are reliable, effective and efficient. As well as compliant with local regulations, license requirements and financial reporting requirements.
- An initiative taker: who takes personal responsibility in sometimes ambiguous circumstances, and is able to (re)prioritise when importance and urgency shift across a number of deliverables or topics
- A problem solver: asking questions, being curious and applying creativity to get the job done, whilst leveraging and working with the team to find the optimal solution.
- Impact minded analytic: with a drive to maximise impact, thinking beyond merely financials and shepherding impact reporting and fact checking what the numbers say
Minimum Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience working in a Finance or hands-on accounting focused role (preferably with reporting into and/or advising the C-suite and/or management team)
- Active and up to date knowledge of Group and/or Dutch accounting regulations and tax laws
- Experience with inter-company flow of funds and transfer pricing (preferred)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and preferably ERP software
